🧾 Description
This article provides the process on how to update firmware on the Magellan 3200VSi and Magellan 3300HSi using the Scanalyzer software.
🛠️ Resolution Steps
What you need:
USB A to micro USB B type (same cable as what older android devices used before USB-C)
Scanalyzer Configuration Software, Scanalyzer User Guide, and the USB Com driver. (links to these found in Attachments)
Firmware and config files for the update. (Contact Datalogic Technical Support for these files, 800-227-2633 option 2)
Step 1:
Once you have installed the USB com driver then plug the micro USB cable into the port under the little rubber membrane found on the scanner.
The connection will create a new comport. To find out what the port is, because we will have to set that in Scanalyzer, you can go to device manager and look under ports. One of the ports should say “Barcode Scanner.”
Step 2:
Open up Scanalyzer, click on Options and Settings and Set Comport.
Select your comport here and click Ok.
Step 3:
Click on the “Connect to Scanner” button.
It will load and provide scanner information at the bottom.
Step 4:
Click on “Update Scanner."
Step 5:
Make sure to check “Both App and Config” when loading firmware because loading firmware wipes out the config. Use the Browse buttons to locate the App and Config files.
Step 6:
Once you have the files selected click on the update button.
Status bar will show the progress…
Step 7:
Once completed the scanner will reboot automatically. You can then reconnect to Scanalyzer to make sure the new ROM matches what you loaded. Shown in the scanner information window under “ROM”
