This article explains how to configure a Network Time Protocol (NTP) server on a Datalogic Android mobile computer using Scan2Deploy Studio and Scan2Deploy Agent. Deploying NTP settings through Scan2Deploy ensures devices synchronize their date and time automatically with a designated time server, providing consistent timestamps across the deployment. Prerequisites
Before beginning, ensure the following resources are available:
Windows PC
Datalogic Android mobile computer
Wi-Fi network accessible by both the PC and the Android device
Scan2Deploy Studio software
🛠️ Resolution Steps
Step 1: Install Scan2Deploy Studio
Navigate to the Datalogic Developer Portal:
https://developer.datalogic.com/mobile-computers
Select Scan2Deploy Studio.
Open the Scan2Deploy Releases section.
Download the latest available version of Scan2Deploy-Studio-Setup.exe and complete the installation.
Step 2: Create a Deployment Profile
Launch Scan2Deploy Studio and select Create.
Select the appropriate:
Device Model
SKU
Android OS Version
Clear the Wi-Fi option.
Enable the Settings option and select Next.
Step 3: Configure System Settings
Uncheck all five settings categories.
Expand System Settings.
Configure the NTP-related settings as required for the environment. The original procedure specifies matching the System Settings configuration shown in the deployment profile example.
Step 4: Configure Profile Deployment Options
Assign a descriptive profile name.
Enable Update S2D.
Select Studio as the host.
Enable:
Backup to Enterprise
Install Latest OEMConfig
Save the profile.
Step 5: Generate the Deployment QR Code
After saving the profile, scroll to the generated QR code.
Optionally, download the profile PDF for future use.
Step 6: Deploy the Profile to the Device
On the Datalogic mobile computer, launch Scan2Deploy Agent.
Scan the generated QR code using the device's scan engine.
The Scan2Deploy Agent will connect over Wi-Fi, download the profile, and apply the configured NTP settings automatically.
Expected Result
After the deployment completes successfully, the device will use the configured NTP server for time synchronization. This ensures the device maintains accurate system time without requiring manual adjustment

Verify the device has network connectivity to the specified NTP server.
If the profile does not apply successfully, confirm the device and Scan2Deploy Studio host can communicate over the same network.
Ensure the latest compatible version of Scan2Deploy Studio is being used when creating profiles.
