🧾 Description
Setting up Multi-Factor Authentication for Sales Force on an Android Device.
🛠️ Resolution Steps
By default, Android doesn’t support Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
To make this happen, Android requires a third party app be loaded that can handle MFA.
Below are some steps that can be taken to get Sales Force working using passkeys.
Setting Up Salesforce MFA on Android
You can enable Salesforce Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on Android by installing the
official Salesforce Authenticator app from Google Play and linking it to your Salesforce account
via the browser login process.
Step-by-Step Setup
1. Install the Salesforce Authenticator app
Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.
Search for Salesforce Authenticator and tap Install.
Open the app and complete the initial setup tour (you can skip it if you prefer).
2. Log in to Salesforce via browser
On your Android device, open a web browser and log in to your Salesforce org with your username and password.
When prompted for MFA, choose Use the Salesforce Authenticator mobile app and tap Continue.
3. Connect the app to your account
The browser will display a two-word verification phrase.
In the Salesforce Authenticator app, tap Yes (if it's a new account) and then Connect Account.
Enter the two-word phrase from the browser into the app and tap Connect.
4. Confirm and test
The app will now store your Salesforce account securely.
Test by logging out and back in — you should see a push notification from the app to approve the login.
