How to set up Quickscan, Gryphon, Powerscan, Heron and GFS in USB-COM under Windows 10 or 11?

🧾 Description

In some cases, and for certain customer applications that listen to a virtual COM port to receive data read by the reader, it is necessary to configure it as a USB-COM interface.
The reader must be connected to the system and powered ON.

🛠️ Resolution Steps

1. USB-COM Drivers:
   Download and install our own USB-COM drivers from our website. The actual version (july 2026) is 7.1.5 : https://www.datalogic.com/eng/search.html?search_txt=usb-com 

   Depending on the situation, you may need to restart your computer after installation.
    

2. USB-COM Interface:
   Scan the configuration label below:
   
    
3. Check COM port:
   Now go to peripherals manager, you should see “barcode scanner” displayed with a COM port number.

4. Check good transmission:
   Now you can open your application and select the COM port to get data from the reader.
