Procedure explaining the steps to connect a PowerScan PBT9600 in SPP (Serial Port Profile) to a Windows devices.
🛠️ Resolution Steps
Unlink (unlink reader from a previous paired device)
Restore Default
Link to Host in SPP Mode
Reader will be visible for 5 minutes, please go to Bluetooth settings of your Win device to discover it. Clik in the name of the reader to add it and status will change to Connected:
Run the SW Terminal to be used and open the virtual COM port assigned to the reader. When opening it, three ascending tones will be emit by the reader indicating that it is linked to the Win BT device and it will be ready to read and send codes:
Reader will appear as Connected in the Bluetooth devices of the Win device:
As soon as the virtual COM port is closed, reader will emit three descending tones indicating that it is not connected:
Reader will appear as Paired in the Bluetooth devices of the Win device:
As soon as we open again the virtual COM port, connectionwill be re-established:
