🛠️ Resolution Steps
DO NOT CONNECT THE DEVICENET CABLE TO THE CBX.
Wait until the scanner is configured before connecting the DeviceNet cable.
If there is a BM100 backup module in the CBX, the network type and node address must be set first (refer to BM100 Backup Module Instruction Manual). Then, connect the scanner and insert the DeviceNet module in the CBX. Run Genius and configure the node address and the input/output sizes. The node address in Genius must match the address set in the backup module (only if there is a backup module in the CBX).
The CBX settings are an environmental setting; to make sure that the scanner saves the configuration, click on Device – Send with Options.
Make sure that the Send Permanently option is selected, and that the Environmental Parameters box is checked. Click OK to send the configuration to the scanner.
After this, the DeviceNet card will initialize and the LED’s on the right will activate green.
LED’s on the right side of the card are active.
The CBX is now ready to connect to the DeviceNet network. Connect the DeviceNet cable. A successful connection will have the LED’s on the left to activate green.
If the LED’s on the left activate red, there is a communication error between the scanner and the DeviceNet network.
Typically, this indicates a node conflict error. If this occurs, then disconnect the DeviceNet cable and check the node address assigned to the scanner via Genius. Cycle power to the CBX with the DeviceNet cable disconnected. If there is a BM100 backup module connected to the CBX, verify that the correct address is set. Then connect the DeviceNet cable to see if the issue has been resolved.
