This is a guide on how to update the firmware on your Genius device.
🛠️ Resolution Steps
Before the scanner can be updated, the zip file has to be installed in Genius. DO NOT UNZIP! First, open Genius but DO NOT connect to scanner. Instead, click on File, Install Package.
Locate where you saved the zip file. Click on the zip file, and then click Open.
Once the package has been installed, click Device>Get and connect to the scanner. Make sure to connect to the scanner’s aux port. After the parameter explorer window appears, click on the Program Download icon.
The parameters explorer window will close and a new window will appear. Leave the first option selected and click Next.
Select the program you want to download and click Next.
After this, the program will start to download.
When the program download is complete, click the Finish button. Genius will connect to the scanner. Make sure to verify in the system information window that the decoder board program and the base package name now displays the new software revision.
