This article provide steps to troubleshoot connection issues between BC9600 + CM968X and SW DL Aladdin. It includes configuration guidance, common symptoms and resolution steps.
When connecting the BC9600 + CM968X to a Pc, users may encounter an issue where DL Aladdin detects the device but fails to recognize it as shown in the image below.
The problem can arise from several factors: the first thing to check is the Pc´s network card settings , as the CM968X has the DHCP disabled by default, if the network adapter has DHCP enabled, recognition by DL Aladdin will not work.
🛠️ Resolution Steps
Restore devices to default following next steps
a. Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the laptop or the Host you are using
b. Restore Default
c. Configure ETHERNET Interface
d. Restart electrically the CM968X still without connecting the Ethernet cable on the Host side
e. Restore CM968X Default
f. Restart electrically the CM968X
2. Ensure to adapt the setting of your network card to the default IP address of the CM968X (192.168.187.31). Before changing the CM968X IP address to match your network requirements, you will have to adapt the settings network card to the default IP address of the CM968X, in the next example we will use 192.168.187.30
Now after new connection to DL Aladdin, there are 2 entries:
a. The CM968X handles all ETH interface options, and we can reach it via socket connection on port 59180
b. The remote device itself in this example: BC9600 manages the radio, the data format and the selection of the interface (the main interfaceto the Host). The interface is ETH-STD 1 and we can reach it via a socket connection on port 51000
Now you can go ahead and configure, first the connected device, format codes, etc, and then change the CM968X network settings according to your needs, remembering to align the settings of your Pc´s network adapter later
