🧾 Description
This article explains how to disable SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) services on Datalogic mobile devices running Windows CE. Disabling SNMP can help improve device security by preventing unauthorized remote access and monitoring.
🛠️ Resolution Steps
1. Prepare the CAB File
- Download and unzip the provided file: Datalogic ADC SNMP Disabled.cab
- Copy the .cab file to your PC.
2. Transfer to the Device
- On the device, navigate to:
- My Device > FlashDisk
- If a folder named CAB does not exist, create one.
⚠️ Make sure the folder name is all uppercase: CAB
- Copy the Datalogic ADC SNMP Disabled.cab file into the CAB folder.
3. Execute the CAB File
- Perform a Cold Boot to automatically run the .cab file at startup.
Cold Boot Procedure:
- Remove the main battery from the scanner.
- Press and hold the orange SCAN button on the keypad.
- While holding the SCAN button, press the Reset button located in the battery compartment.
- Reinsert the battery and power on the device.
The CAB file will execute during boot and disable SNMP services.
