This article provides step-by-step instructions for enabling the checksum feature for EAN-13 barcode symbology within the Wavelink Velocity Console. This configuration ensures that the checksum digit is included when scanning EAN-13 barcodes using Datalogic scanners.
🛠️ Resolution Steps
1. Create a New Project
- Open the Velocity Console.
- Click New Project.
- Enter a Project Name and select TE (Terminal Emulation).
2. Configure Profile Settings
Enter the following details:
- Profile Name: Typically the name of the device.
- Host Address: IP or hostname of the server.
- Emulation Type: Choose the appropriate emulation (e.g., VT, TN3270, etc.).
- Click on the Scanner tab.
3. Add Scanner Configuration
- Click New to add a scanner configuration.
- From the drop-down menu, select Datalogic.
4. Enable EAN-13 Checksum
- In the scanner configuration screen:
- Navigate to Symbology Settings.
- Select EAN-13.
- Check both:
- Enable
- Send Checksum
- Click OK to save the settings.
5. Save and Deploy
- Save the project.
- Click Deploy to generate a .wldep file.
6. Upload to Device
- Use the .wldep file to update your device configuration.
