🧾 Description
This article outlines how to configure ASCII character output (such as carriage return or line feed) on the Datalogic Skorpio X4 using Ivanti TelnetCE. This is useful when customizing scanner behavior for VT or WEB emulation modes.
🛠️ Resolution Steps
1. Confirm Emulation Mode
- Open the Ivanti Velocity Console or TelnetCE configuration.
- Ensure the device is operating in either:
- VT Emulation
- WEB Emulation
2. For VT Emulation
- Expand the Emulation folder.
- Navigate to:
- VT and HP > Common > Scan Terminator
- In the Scan Terminator field, enter the desired ASCII code:
- \0D for Carriage Return (CR)
- \0A for Line Feed (LF)
- You can combine both if needed (e.g., \0D\0A)
Save the configuration.
- 🔗 Refer to ASCII Table for full symbol and hexadecimal mappings.
3. For WEB Emulation
- Expand the Emulation folder.
- Navigate to:
- WEB > WEB Default Scanner Auto Keys
- Select the desired key action, such as Enter, to simulate ASCII behavior.
4. Additional Scanner Settings
- Navigate to:
- Scanner > Common
- Ensure settings match recommended configuration for your use case (e.g., trigger mode, decode settings).
Outcome
- Once configured, the Skorpio X4 will send the specified ASCII characters (e.g., CR or LF) after scanning, ensuring compatibility with host systems or applications.
