Article explaining how to upgrade firmware of a corder handheld scanner by USB with DL Aladdin 3.2.0.3

Materials :

1x Reader and its USB cable
1x PC with Windows 7 64bits minimum (Be administrator of the machine)

Tools :

Download and install Aladdin version 3.2.0.3: https://cdn.datalogic.com/Download?iddwnfile=36854   

Download the USB COM drivers if not done with the Aladdin installation: https://cdn.datalogic.com/Download?iddwnfile=22082

Restart your computer 

 
Procedure for loading the firmware :

1) Connect the reader to a USB port on the PC. Do not connect it to a HUB.
2) Launch Aladdin 3.2.0.3
3) In the top menu, click on "Firmware Upgrade":


 

4. In the window that opens, click on the "Load Firmware File" button:

5. Click on the "Config Repository" button to locate all firmware directories:

6. In our example, we will upgrade a Gryphon GD4500 to 610099050.

/!\ important Note : It is imperative to check the model of the reader you have in order to choose the right firmware. If you have not chosen the right firmware, an error message will be displayed:

7. Choose in the list the directory corresponding to your player and click on « Open »:

8. Choose the file "610099050.dfw" and click on « Open » :

9. Click on the "Firmware Upgrade With USB Cable" button :

10.  Scan the barcode displayed:
     

11.  The reader will emit a series of beeps and the firmware will load :

Wait for the end of the loading.

If you need to load another player, click on "yes", otherwise click on "no":
