🧾 Description
This procedure allows to pair the Gryphon GBT4500 in MASTER Serial Port Profile by scanning a barcode including the Bluetooth Mac Address of the PC.
The goal is to transmit the read data in a tool using a virtual COM port emulating the Serial communication.
🛠️ Resolution Steps
STEP 1. Create the pairing code
Use barcode creation software.
Create a Datamatrix or Code128 code in this form:
<FNC3>LnkBxxxxxxxxxxxx
The "X" represent the 12 characters of the Bluetooth Mac Address of the PC on which you want to pair the reader.
For example, on a PC whose Mac Address is DC71962EAD05, the pairing code will be the following:
STEP 2. Reader configuration

STEP 3. Create a COM port manually*
Launch the Bluetooth utility on the PC and do "Open Settings", as follows:
Click on "Advanced Bluetooth Settings", as follows:
In the window that opened, click on "Add", as follows:
Leave the default setting "Incoming" and press "ok":
A com port has just been created, here, the COM26:
Press "OK".
STEP 4. Pairing of the reader and recovery of the scanned data
Scan the previously generated code.
Launch the tool that will retrieve the read data.
For our tests, we use the COMTestSerial tool.
We open the COM26 port:
At this moment, Window10 opens a window, as follows:
Click on this popup, you should get a window:
Click on "Authorize".
The reader will beep upwards.
It is now possible to recover the data read by the reader:
