🧾 Description
Some applications with several PowerScan readers paired to a base, needs to check which reader has read the data. To do this in a simple way, it´s possible to set an independent prefix for each reader following next steps.
Important: this procedure is not valid when working in Two Ways mode and an answer or message must be sent to the readers because base is not able to answer a reader just checking the prefix even if it is independent. In this case, radio address is needed.
🛠️ Resolution Steps
1. Read both next two codes with all the PM9X00 readers to be used:
Unlink
Restore Default
2. Bind every reader to the BC9XX0 base just placing them on top.
3. With one of them, read next Restore Default code to apply it also on the base:
Restore Default
4. With the same reader, configure all the necessary parameters for the final configuration (interface, reading parameters, code families, etc) except the prefixes. Configuration can also be done through DL Aladdin, if so, just writing it on the device (base will be the device recognized by the SW) and then disconnect it.
5. Open an Offline Configuration for the PowerScan family/Base Chargers and select your base charger model at the right:
6. Go to Update Policy at the left to disable Automatic Configuration Update parameter:
7. Go to Data Format to set the desired Prefix for the first reader by clicking on Global Prefix:
8. For example, if the independent value prefix is 0001, select the elements and click Export Configuration to get the configuration code:
For the next readers, please repeat steps 7 and 8 changing the elements (000x)
