This article outlines the steps to perform a Clean Boot on the Datalogic Elf device running Windows CE 6.0. A clean boot restores the device to its factory default state, clearing user data and configurations. This is useful for troubleshooting persistent issues or preparing the device for redeployment.

1. Perform a Cold Boot
- Remove the main battery from the device.
- Press the Reset button located inside the battery compartment.
2. Initiate Clean Boot
- Reinsert the main battery.
- Immediately press and hold the RED PHONE and 0 keys together.
- If the device does not power on automatically, continue holding the keys and press the Power button.
3. Confirm Clean Boot
- A message will appear: “Clean boot request detected.”
- Press the ENT (Enter) key to confirm.
- If you do not see this message, repeat the process from Step 1.
4. Wait for Reboot
- After approximately 20 seconds, the screen will go dark.
- You will hear a power-up tone from the device.
5. Complete Touch Screen Calibration
- The device will prompt for touch screen calibration.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete calibration.
