🧾 Description
This article provides instructions for configuring the TSL-1128 Bluetooth RFID reader for use with Datalogic Skorpio X3 devices running Windows CE 6.0 or Windows Embedded Handheld (WEHH). The setup enables RFID scanning via Bluetooth communication between the reader and the terminal.
Environment
RFID Reader: TSL-1128 Bluetooth
Mobile Device: Datalogic Skorpio X3
Operating Systems: Windows CE 6.0 and WEHH

MicroSD card
Prerequisites
A microSD card installed in the TSL-1128
Adequate battery charge on the TSL-1128
ActiveSync connection between the PC and the Skorpio X3
Required files downloaded and extracted
🛠️ Resolution Steps
Step 1: Prepare the TSL-1128
Copy the file \MicroSD_TSL1128\auto.txt to the root directory of a microSD card.
Insert the microSD card into the TSL-1128 RFID reader.
Step 2: Transfer Required Programs to the Terminal
Using ActiveSync, copy the following files to the Skorpio X3:
BTdiscover.exe
WedgeRFID.exe
Place both files in the \FlashDisk directory on the terminal.
Step 3: Pair the TSL-1128 with the Terminal
For Windows CE Devices:
Pull the yellow trigger on the TSL-1128 — the blue LED should start flashing.
On the terminal, run BTdiscover.exe to establish communication.
Pull the trigger again to keep the blue light flashing.
Run WedgeRFID.exe on the terminal.
When prompted for a PIN, enter 0000 and press Enter.
The blue LED should turn solid, indicating a successful connection.
You can now scan RFID tags by pulling the trigger once.
Note: If the trigger is pulled quickly twice, the terminal’s barcode scanner may activate instead of the RFID reader.
For Windows Embedded Handheld (WEHH) Devices:
Open the Bluetooth Manager on the terminal.
Enable Bluetooth.
Press the Discover button to search for nearby devices.
Select the TSL-1128 from the list.
Pair the device using the Serial Profile on virtual COM4:.
Proceed with running WedgeRFID.exe and entering the PIN 0000.
Additional Notes
Ensure the TSL-1128 remains powered and within range during setup.
The auto.txt file helps automate the configuration of the TSL-1128.
