In this article you can find the steps to Disable USB Selective Suspend on a Windows Computer. On Windows, USB Selective Suspend will limit power to connected USB devices, including your scanning device. It can potentially cause recognition problems.
🛠️ Resolution Steps
To disable USB Selective Suspend:
NOTE: Accessing these settings may require administrative rights on the computer.
- Unplug your scanning device from the computer
- On the computer, open Control Panel
- Click Hardware and Sound
- Click Power Options
- Click Change plan settings next to the currently selected power plan
- Click Change advanced power settings
- Expand USB settings
- Expand USB selective suspend settings
- Click Settings and select Disabled from the drop-down menu
- On a laptop, select Disabled for both "On battery" and "Plugged in"
- Click OK
- Plug your scanning device back into the computer.
