🧾 Description
Unlike the Powerscan Mobile, which connects automatically to the SD9030 dongle, the GM4x00 scanner requires manual configuration to establish a link. This article outlines the steps to connect a GM4x00 scanner to an SD9030 dongle using Aladdin software in Service Mode.
Prerequisites
Ensure the following components are ready:
- Aladdin software version 1.12 or higher installed.
- SD9030 package installed in Aladdin: 610116411 (required for country settings).
- USB COM Drivers version 6.3 or higher installed.
- GM4x00 scanner and SD9030 dongle available.
- Dongle disconnected from the PC before starting.
🛠️ Resolution Steps
1. Enter Service Mode with Aladdin
- Launch Aladdin.
- Navigate to Tools > Force Device Connection.
- Press and hold the Green/Yellow button on the SD9030 dongle.
- While holding the button, connect the dongle to your PC.
- Wait for Aladdin to establish the connection.
2. Send Configuration Commands
- In Aladdin, go to the Terminal tab and send the following commands one by one
Commands to send Description STCP01 Low Radio Speed Enable STFA00 Frequency hopping Disable BTCU00 Configuration Update Disable - Tip: Type each command and press Enter to send it.
3. Configure the GM4x00 Scanner
- Close Aladdin after sending the commands.
- Using the GM4x00 scanner, scan the following barcode:
- CBTCU00 – Automatic Configuration Update (Disable)
- Unplug and replug the SD9030 dongle.
- Scan the “Scan To Link” barcode located on the dongle.
Outcome
- The GM4x00 scanner should now be successfully linked to the SD9030 dongle and ready for use.
