This article explains how to apply a previously saved configuration to a Datalogic X3 device using the Datalogic Configuration Utility (DCU). This is useful for deploying consistent settings across multiple devices.
Environment
Device: Datalogic X3 Series
Operating System: Windows CE
Tool: Datalogic Configuration Utility (DCU)
Connection Type: USB with ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC)
Prerequisites
DCU installed on the host PC.
A saved configuration file from a previously configured device.
ActiveSync or WMDC connection established between the host PC and the target device.
🛠️ Resolution Steps
Connect the Target Device
Use a USB cable to connect the device you want to configure to the PC.
Ensure ActiveSync or WMDC shows the device as connected.
Launch DCU
Open the Datalogic Configuration Utility on the host PC.
Load the Saved Configuration
In DCU, select the option to load or import the previously saved configuration file.
Send Configuration to the Device
Click the option to send or apply the configuration to the connected device.
Wait for the process to complete.
Disconnect the Device
Once the configuration is applied, safely disconnect the device from the PC.
Save the Registry on the Device
On the device, go to:
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Registry Admin
Save the registry to ensure the configuration persists after reboot.
