🧾 Description

The scanner Gryphon GD41xx is not able to be connected to Aladdin using the Force Device Connection procedure. There's a bug never solved that doesn't allow this option.

🛠️ Resolution Steps

If the user wants to connect the scanner to Aladdin then it is possible by using the following procedure:

  • Open Aladdin
  • Click Device Auto Detection --> Search On Connection

  • Once the previous screen appears read the code with the scanner, it will be recognized and then connect

If the scanner is green blinking, then it is not possible to use force device connection for accessing Aladdin and changing the interface manually. In order to exclude the device is stuck in USB-OEM, perform the following:

  • keep the trigger pressed for 10 seconds until the aimer appears

  • once it appears read the Reset Eugene code. It automatically reset the device and set the interface USB-KBD (keyboard emulator)

If the procedure reported above is not working, then the device is not recognized by the PC, in that case it is important to:

  • replace the cable with another one and check if it is working, otherwise it could be defective

  • change the physical USB port where the device is connected

  • check if the user of Windows (or the OS you are using) has the privileges to install the driver requested from the scanner when connected to the PC. In case you do not have them, try another PC or take Admin privileges.

If all the the procedures give negative result be sure that the device is not emitting 4 loud beeps when powered up the first time, if so then the device is probably stuck in the bootloader phase and it is not able to load the application firmware. Please ask for a firmware update in Developer Mode with the latest firmware available for the GD41xx. Check the Article Firmware update in Developer Mode for further details about this step.
